I do hope you will make a difference in reasonable tackling the socio-economic challenges in Africa, a continent that is plague with weak governance, intensive corruption, political intolerance and weak satisfaction of the sectors of the welfare basket. I recommend you consider the role of energy in ending poverty. Average electric power availability is just 30 watts/capita in central Africa, compared to 1000 watts/capita in the US. Electricity enables industry, lighting, communications, water distribution, septic waste processing, hospitals, transportation, etc. Providing affordable, carbon-free electricity is described in the new book, "THORIUM: energy cheaper than coal". One of the best solutions to solve the problem of poverty is: CONVERT ALL IDLE LANDS INTO PRODUCTIVE PROPERTIES and create industrial activities in remote areas of the provinces.
