Microsoft will host a significant news conference on February 7th. Minutes after Google made its ChatGPT rival official, the software behemoth is now formally announcing an in-person event that will take place at its Redmond headquarters. Invitations to the event were first mailed out last week.

Microsoft isn't teasing much in advance of its event, which begins on February 7 at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern. However, it's more likely that the company will concentrate on its rumored ChatGPT integration into Bing and its broader partnership with OpenAI.

Expect a number of significant announcements since the invitation states Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will "share some progress on a few exciting projects.". The invitation was sent out just a few days after Microsoft renewed its partnership with OpenAI in a $10 billion agreement that will make Microsoft OpenAI's sole cloud partner. All workloads for OpenAI in products, API services, and research will be powered by Microsoft's cloud services.

Additionally, Microsoft's event comes shortly after Google unveiled Bard, a ChatGPT rival. Only a small group of people are currently testing the "experimental conversational AI service," but Google promises to make it more widely accessible to the public in the upcoming weeks.

The ChatGPT integration into Bing search results is Microsoft's response to Google's ChatGPT rival. Some Bing users noticed a brand-new chat section with a chatbot-like user interface last week, suggesting that this integration may have briefly leaked. Microsoft refers to this as "the new Bing," which will offer "complete answers" to actual queries.

Microsoft also intends to integrate OpenAI's various models into its own consumer and business products. Outside of Bing, there are rumors that OpenAI technology will be added to Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft just released Microsoft Teams Premium, which includes OpenAI-powered features.

Microsoft's event will take place on February 7, the day before Google's own search and AI-focused event. The sudden announcement of Bard just one day before Microsoft's event suggests that the search engine giant is extremely alarmed. The recent launch of ChatGPT is said to have sparked alarms within Google.

We're hoping to see a lot more of this ChatGPT integration in Bing today and learn more about how Microsoft intends to incorporate OpenAI models into its various products.
