PlayTV Review

My review of PlayTV, the PVR add-on for PlayStation 3. Hope you guys enjoy.

Pros

+ Turns your PS3 into a freeview PVR
+ Small, compact design
+ Allows you to record TV and play games simultaneously

Cons
- Can occasionally take some time to boot up from the PS3 XMB
- Playing games while recording TV can sometimes result in stuttering and skipping from recorded programs
- Chat TV feature is pretty much a dead-zone

Loved the PlayTV. The interface was so much snappier and responsive than any Smart TV or DVR at the time, and better than most smart tv's even to this day. I remember even scrubbing through recordings was really quick.

Good review mate and great product its a shame that Sony hasn't released play tv for ps4 as I have a ps4 now

This was one of the features I used most.i was able to record in the play tv library and transfer to the ps3 main menu and could transfer to usb hard drive from there. At some point that stopped .it ruined my experience with it because it made things so easy.
I still have it hooked up just don't use it anymore .as you can now only record the amount the ps3 has internally. And cable tv sucks
