I found these mismatched French Provincial coffee tables out for trash a few weeks ago and I thought I could turn them into a great matching set. My makeover definitely didn’t go as smoothly as I’d planned though. Watch along to see what happened!

French provisional furniture is not my thing. I kinda really dislike them. But this looks soo good! I love the grey and the wood top looks amazing! I was a bit shocked when you put the grey stain on, but when you wiped it of, it became perfect. Absolutely gorgeous. I love these trash find remakes because it really show how beutiful things can get with a bit of love and elbow grease. We need to stop this craziness of just throwing away good stuff as soon as they're not perfect anymore. And you are a great inspiration. Love your videos!

Don't know why but a new video by you feels like a piece of chocolate. They make me so happy. There's something incredibly satisfying in watching you work.

Finding things in the garbage gives one the opportunity to experiment and try new things. These turned out beautiful and someone will be thrilled to get them.

Wow, the struggle was real on these pieces! They turned out great as usual. Thanks for taking us along with you and your struggles with these, I think we can all identify with you. 😫😅🤗😍

The coffee table came out very well. I'm so glad you went grey instead of green. Those of us old enough to remember the '70s never want to see green furniture again.

I really like these Katie. The Grey is rich looking and the top finish ended up giving it just the dimension it needed from the bottom. I love that you share your thought processes with us and questioning of your choices.

Even though your project didn't go the way you wanted it to, it turned out to be really attractive. You achieved the quiet sophistication that you wanted. 🙂 Also, I love the idea of using an old sock over a glove to apply the sealant. How simple, but incredibly effective. Well done, Katie. 😀

Wow!!!! As stand alones just wow!
As for being your style, you already know? Would different color make them your style? I, who like light/natural, think these 3 are amazing. The curves make them visually eye catching/interesting to look at. And glad they get more life.

Love the stained wood on the coffee table. Wish you could have made the end tables match. You did a great job with what you had.

Maybe this isn't what you wanted, but it's what the tables wanted to be. They're absolutely gorgeous - very sophisticated and expensive looking. I gasped at the gray stain on the top, but it all worked out well when you got enough of it rubbed off. The finishing wax added perfect dimension to the tables. Love them - great job!

What a journey to end up with a beautiful set! The wax really made a difference. And I loved the "questioning all my life choices" comment! Your sense of humor is terrific!

Seems like wise owl 1 hour might be a bit limited in color selection.

They are all gorgeous. The black wax and the diluted stain create beautiful depth. These were a struggle and I agree with each change you made. This is a real “trust the process” situation. I think if you throw a drop cloth over them, wait 48 hours and then look at them, you may see how beautiful they are. Or not. The colors are different from what you most often choose. I think they’re very elegant and sophisticated.🌸

First of all, I'd be a little mad that the swatches didn't match the actual paint. I'm sure it wasn't cheap. Second of all, they turned out gorgeous!! The gray, I think, did the French Provincial coffee table more than justice, beautiful!! I'm not sure how I feel about the full coverage on the side tables but I understand if they needed to be that way. The set looks like new pieces and will go well in someone's livingroom.
