"this is a bit confusing, but don't blame me, blame nuton because he's the one who thought of all this crap"

Bucky does it all. From computer science all the way to physics. such a boss!

thank you so much! my physics teacher assigned this topic as reading, but seeing it drawn out really makes a difference when it comes to understanding.

Great stuff. I'm not taking any class, but just enjoy learning science like this.

holy shit bucky, i was watching your javascript tutorials a week  ago, and today i had trouble understanding centripetal force so i youtube it and HERE YOU ARE AGAIN! (great tutorials btw!)

Nice job. You could have mentioned that centripetal force is the cause of circular motion and acts inwards towards the centre of the circle. Keep up the good work. I'm going to direct my students to your site.

I originally subscribed to TNB due to the awesome Android Development Tutorials.
Now i'm following these physics lectures just to kill time, and i'm actually decently entertained :-)
Bucky, i love your work! Keep making tutorials.

You make learning this stuff a lot easier and more fun, great job wd

This summarized the first 3 sections of the chapter! Thanks so much!

Yes. Of course, the speed could vary as well, and it probably would if you really did this, but for the example given here the speed is constant.

Oh I see now. Both forces are working against each other. They're in the same motion at the same time. Thank you!

Thanks, I'm learning this at school and it's helping a lot!

exactly! every force has an equal and opposite force acting against it, and the centrifugal force is the ball trying to leave the orbit (path of the ball) and the centripetal force is the force keeping the object in it's path. the reason why the object isn't flying off is because of these two forces cancelling each other out at EVERY point in orbit.

I don't even care about physics and I still love watching these.

Correction. Acceleration, as he already stated in the video, is change in velocity over change in time. Velocity = Speed and direction. A change in speed is acceleration, as well.

i subscribed for java and i get physics this just gets better and better.
Still i would prefer a little advanced physics.

Because speed is a scalar quantity (It doesn't have a direction.) But if you think about Acceleration does have a direction (and is therefore a vector.) And the vectorial component of speed is velocity.

its great cause this is exactly what we're doing in class :D
