Mate with ice is called Tereré. Believed to originate in Paraguay. You take your normal yerba, cold as balls fruit juice and survive the summer.

The steel gourd is perfect. I always take it with me to work or longer journeys.

I recently switched from canned Yerba to this traditional method. Love it, although I get the occasional small piece of herb in my mouth. I’ll get the hang of it eventually.

Idk if you’ve tried this, but try drinking fruit flavored mates in a gourd and compare it to a wooden one, and then the metal one. The flavor changes a ton for me

Hey man just wanted to say thank you and have one quick question. First your videos are so chill I couldn’t help but buy the basics and have been drinking for a couple months now. Second there’s some quality about Yerba (probably more in effect than in taste) that reminds me of pu er and I’ve been wondering if you’ve ever tried it or any gongfu style Chinese tea? Thanks again for the content and happy sipping

Never knew flavoured mate existed (like fruit flavoured). I think I’ll try it next.

You have a long way to go on learning about “Tereré” which in Brazil’s Center West Region is served in a Cattle Horn Gourd or Pottery Gourd, on the rocks with cold water and some lime juice.

Try “terere”. It’s the same, but instead of drinking boiling water you have to drink an orange juice. It must not be with an squeezed juice, it should be a powder juice

Would you recommend steel for beginners who want to try Yerba Mate?

I’m not gonna lie I had to subscribe after hearing about the benefits of what it could do. And then seeing the youtube shorts over and over I had to buy it and try it myself 😂😂
