check out the work of Urbn Timber:

Gary Vaynerchuk and I made a trade. I made him a table and he helped me and my partners with Maker Brand, our new product company. I wanted to try and share some of the design process using a white board so let me know what you think.

The whiteboards in this video are Bootstrap Boards.
They’re one of our favorite products and they gave us a special offer to get 10% off.

I really loved seeing the design process on this one! The table looks awesome, and the welded cityscape idea is fantastic. I could even see using this design concept to make painted PVC legs (which also might allow for a denser "city" under the table).

everything great but I preffer the legs appearance
without paint, that raw look was perfect

cool way of showing off the design process! Longer videos :)

I really like how you included a little insight as to how you came up with the design!  My favorite or most exciting part of anything I make is when I actually land on the design (or at least the initial design...always seems to change as I go), so I think that part is just as interesting as the build itself!

i LIke the look/design it is quite unique i think. in my experience Ash can be a bit unstable and given the size of the table and that it is made of 3 wide planks whats you thoughts on it staying flat? especially with the legs the way they are any twisting will be quite apparent . it seems this would have been the perfect candidate for some kind of breadboard end.

Seeing this build is an "aha" moment for me as I start my journey to adding metalworking to my woodworking. I love your design taste and I'm definitely trying your ideas on some of the projects I will work on. Thank you for the inspiration! :)

Great video and very cool table. When you are doing gasless mig or flux core welding then you should use Anti Spatter Spray. It’s inexpensive and works really well. Just spray on the metal and no spatter. Apologies if you’re already using it.

This is really cool. Really dig the legs.

I've seen you tease this on your IG, and it did not disappoint! I kept thinking it looks like some kind of warship that belongs in the Empire's fleet from Star Wars. Nice job, Ben!

Reminds me of pipe organs in churches, and art deco skyscrapers!

Love the design. I think the white color was a great choice. Now I really want to see another version with the ends of the pipes capped and the pipes fully welded (no gaps) so it is more about the whole form. 👍

Great build Ben. Muriatic Acid mixed 1:5 with water is a good way to remove the mill scale in a small dish tub that's well ventilated and not near other metal
.

what did you put under the legs to prevent it from scratching that pretty floor?.

That’s an amazing table Ben! And I really like the new format for the video. Sharing your initial ideas and then start sketching to develop the design concept it’s always a very interesting and fundamental process that not many people in this space share. Keep up the great work! 👌🏽🖖🏽

this is really nice but i think it would be even nicer and more city-like skyline if you extended some of the legs horizontally from one end to somewhere closer to the middle. I might have to try this out in some of my future projects!!

The whole force would be on to the last thin pipe which touched the ground ? Will it take the load ? Won't that be a problem in the future?

So nice, Ben. I do like how you walked through the design process.

Table looks great, the addition of some floor protectors on the bottoms of the legs will save any damage to their timber flooring

Just a recommendation for drilling steel...

Use your larger drill to get the recess made and then finish with the smaller drill but for the through hole. The larger drill will make a funnel that can help guide the smaller bit.

I say this because depending on the size of screws you use in future applications you might find your larger drill bit catching and possibly chipping as you drill over an existing hole.
