When I was younger I licked a crater into one of these, and when I was going to sleep there was a bare lightbulb next to the bed that I proceeded to perfectly cup the jawbreaker over. The jawbreaker started to melt, which I found exciting. The bulb exploded, shooting one or two hot glass shards on my face. 10/10 will never forget

fun fact: The creator of Ed Edd and Eddy made jaw breakers the object of desire because he couldn't understand how anyone could possibly enjoy them, and he thought that everyone pining over them would be funny

Ed Edd n Eddy carrying the advertisement for these candies internationally is just wild to me

I'm 31 and I remember watching How It's Made when I was a kid, so it's kind of a bittersweet reminder of time passing.

On Mythbusters they tested the myth of exploding jawbreakers. When one did it splattered hot sugar and an intern got slightly burned on her face

I was so scared of these as a kid 😂 They were so popular because of Ed, Edd, and Eddy but I always thought I'd choke.

Eddy would watch this and tell the boys "we need to cook"

It's always funny to me that people keep on discovering that you're NOT supposed to swallow bubble gum.

No way this episode came out on Halloween. We didn't celebrate Halloween much as I got older and so my mother would get me a giant one of these every year to make up for the whole not trick-or-treating thing.
And we've continued that tradition with our kids.

The jawbreakers are named because when they first invented it, they taste tested it by biting it so hard it chipped there teeth. And thats why there named like that.

Used to live near this mall that had candy dispensers near the entrances. Their jawbreakers were around 50 cents and would come with some of the most potent sour centers I could remember

great video! i really love how you break down the process of making jawbreakers. it's fascinating! but honestly, i feel like the flavor possibilities are somewhat limited compared to other candies. wouldn't it be cool to see more unique flavors or even collabs with popular desserts? just a thought!
