I heard more assumptions about all this than facts. You guys figure out a theory then you build the story from present to the past and call it "truth, " write a text book about it, feed it to the young, impressional minds and you have yourselves generations preaching the same garbage as fact. You then deem anyone who rejects your swill, ignorant and brand them "Science Deniers, " when there is no science involved, only "scientific THEORY." Dimetrodon was not a dinosaur, and was from an earlier epoch, the Permian period, some 280 260 million years ago, the time of so-called "mammal-like reptiles", The age of the end of the dinosaurs was the Cretaceous.period, the final period of the Mesozoic Era, some 145 to 66 milling years ago. There was a vast time difference between the dimetrodon the the last period of the dinosaurs, more than twice the end of the dinosaurs and today.
