I bought a green oneplus open and the front screen broke during the first hour. I ended up getting a brand new pixel fold about a month ago. Im happy with the pixel fold. I like oneplus phones, my last phone was the oneplus nord n30 and that phone is great so i tried the oneplus open but the open breaking within an hour of me receiving it made me shy away from the op open

I had a Fold 6, returned it, and picked up the OnePlus Open, again. I love open canvas and It's a much better way to multitask. I hope they expand on it and maybe allow you to open more apps, rearrange apps more easily, etc. Using anything else feels like a compromise. I liked having the option of using DEX, but never used it. Open canvas is so good with multitasking on the phone itself that a DEX like competitor isn't necessary. The S-Pen was the same story for me. Liked the idea of having it as an option, but never actually used it. I think the entire point of a foldable is multitasking/entertainment, so the Open is the best option for me.

I’m about to drop $1800 on a phone is something I need that I would say but I grateful that I’m able to do so and purchase something that I know will make me happy. Been with iPhone for ten years and just need a little something different now.

This one year old model is still superior to both the zFold6 and Google 9Pro Fold. The software always will catch up. The Ram expandable in settings to 28GB RAM. The cameras remain superior. The weight, the higher resolution screens, the battery, the charging, the inner screen crease, the fit and finish. The multitasking. The OnePlus Open remains better in every single way. Those that disagree, never had tried it. The fear mongers will not admit that the OnePlus Open has better reliability. They won't mention the endless zFold horror stories. The zFold6 rated at 200, 000 folds because of its deeper crease. No other foldable has a better crease than OnePlus/Oppo. Their screen rated at ONe MILLION Folds.. Then there's the processor. The 8gen3 is giving all the new phones issues because of the more heat. It's a hotter chip that needs to be throttled down to 8gen2 speeds. The only phone that pushes the 8gen3 chip to its limits is the thicker bodied vivo x 3pro. Not the regular version.
Also the Google 9PRO Fold's G4 chip is still SLOWER than the 8gen2!
So the OnePlus wins hands down, and will "put the nail on the coffin" on Samsung & Google in January with their OnePlus Open 2!

This phone has been out for a year already in other markets. The Oppo Find N3 came in a 1tb red colour and Oppo have the privacy mode. It's exactly the same phone just badges under OnePlus.

The original One Plus Opens also had 16 GB of Ram. In a retrospect to pay an additional $400 just for double the storage and a VIP mode just makes the original model more appealing.

I wish they offered the crimson in the 512 GB version as well without the VIP mode. For those who have purchased the OnePlus Open can you tell me as a decade long Samsung user, if you would get their insurance? What about their $69 extended warranty? I can get the black for $825 with trade in. But it is a 1 year old phone. I'm so torn.

Great video! The VIP mode is already on android, it is called "sensor off" but you have to activate developer mode. I use it on my Note 9👌🏽

I want to get the one plus open, but im waiting on the water resistance to get better. Ipx 4 isn't great. It's a huge peace of mind for me.
