In this video I give you the apps that I think are the best for helping impove your piano playing. I decided to break the video down into several categories so you can decide which apps might help you the best.

The categories are: Note Recognition, Ear Training, Timing, Theory, Sheet Music and Step-By-Step Learning Apps.

One good thing about Simply Piano is it provides a fuck tonne of sheet music to learn from which basically means it is serving two purposes.

Great video with some useful apps mentioned. With respect to music learning apps I've been enjoying Flowkey. In particular the function that enables you to isolate a particular section of the music paired with the wait function so you can really get a small section right before moving the selection along to the next part. Getting it right also includes showing you which fingers to use as well as obviously the actual notes.

Wow, YouTube recommended your three year old video and then your current one. Big improvement in presentation. At first I didn’t realize it was you in both. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to make these videos.

Firstly, I love your videos and all the advice! I started on a plastic keyboard in SEP 2023 with an app called "playground sessions" and I have to say I love the App wholeheartedly! After playing for a few months I came across a lot of your videos and they really help me out / keep me interested. Took your advice and upgraded to a Yamaha P-225 and got myself a teacher and started taking lessons from around March. My playing has improved tremendously! I still use the App everyday and I still take lessons, but my biggest take away's from my lessons are - My teacher, being an accomplished pianist, sees/hears things I am doing wrong that I was completely unaware of. Such as - I have an involuntary Pinky curl playing scales in my Left hand that I am making a lot of progress getting rid of. Never took notice before he pointed it out when I said I was having difficulty playing Em Scale quickly. That's something an App cannot do! Thanks for all the Videos and I look forward to the next one!

The advantage to an app for learning to play was that my head was usually full after 15 minutes. So instead of worrying about "what to learn" i just learned what the app suggested. Now, knowing the very basics i am getting interested in working with a piano teacher.
I used simply piano, it was good as a start, but i think it could be a lot better, too.

Pianote - Musora - I use Pianote and though I have limited time to practice - I like this program and feel the yearly cost is worth it for me. I would like to find a music teacher, but not until I can commit to practice more. Thank you for this video, very helpful.

I found that piano teachers can be very judgemental about your playing. They dont encourage you to follow your dream of becoming a professional musician. They like to crush your hopes and dreams.

Great video! Getting more and more apps to help me learn the piano and reading sheet music. What do you think about the learning journey Pianote offers? I'm a total beginner and currently using Pianote myself.

Buddy, you are awesome. I would just ask you to slow down a bit, since English (UK English a bit more complicated) is not my first language. Thanks for all your content!

My favorite metronome for Android is Tempo. Definitely the best I've seen

on the apps section, I have used simply piano before, but I have severals critiscisims to it, I do however really like playground sessions, the selection of great sheet music and the tools to learn it are great, as well as accompaniment if you are into that, endded up getting a lifetime subscription myself and I really like it, the advanced type of music feels really good and compleat, even though advanced actually means "begginer advanced" I would say from a broad piano skill standpoint, still sounds great

I have Yousician, its was an offer from my sister to my daughter to play ukulele, and i was in love with it because it felt like a game to me...spent hours playing. I saw that it had piano and commented to my sister how i would love to play piano, one dream of mine since being a kid. She offered me a Yamaha and use Yousician to play. But i really can tell it's more dificult to play piano then ukulele.
But its good app and relaxing one because u can play simple musics since the beginning
