I sang this for my step dad as we lowered his casket into the ground. His spirit is with god now and I miss him everyday. He never married my mom and he always called me and treated me like his own. I known him since I was 10 and now I am almost 40. I miss him every single minute of every single day.

Looks like Wyoming; Tetons in the background... I've been blessed to view these monumental peaks several times while traveling the US, and they are magnificent! Still, I love the serene wilderness beauty of Oregon; from it's miles and miles of Pacific Coast shoreline, to it's glistening snowcapped mountain peaks throughout the State, rising high above endless miles of Fir, Juniper, and Ponderosa Pine forests, under brilliant blue skies... And hosting numerous campgrounds with log cabins and/or firepit tent sites, to high rise luxury hotels. I live in the Three Sisters Wilderness area of Bend, Oregon, a well known ski resort city, where actors such as Kevin Costner has a home, and is known for hanging out with the locals. Also Kate Jackson, who shops at the discount markets! They're just regular folks. Regardless of where I travel in this beautiful country of ours, or how long I've been gone, my final destination will always be the beautiful state of Oregon; my home.

I have had many thoughts on this very statement.
Home, what really is it. The standard line is you can never go home, which I have found to be true. Home when we think of family is where you grew up, where you felt so completely you, that you simple were instead of what we are forced to be by life.
So you cannot go back to that because times change, people pass, buildings get torn down and your memories get betrayed by progress.
Then I thought your current family, your spouse, lover, friends, kids, etc can be home as well.... but we live in time that is a one way street and even the current "home" does not stay the same and you lose yourself still to what life makes.
Then I thought, well I was taught there is an afterlife where you will be happy and find this joy....except look at the multiple times you have already found home.... How can you be happy somewhere they would all collide. You would never trust it, or actually be happy. Unless again, something was artificially making you happy.
Home is an instant, a moment in time where all our pain, struggle, and worries are abated and for that moment we are in peace. Home does not last, and there is no going home ( although I can tell you there have been literally thousands of time in my own personal life I have wanted to go home, So I very much understand the wish)
There is only finding home, and the next moment in time that life gets confused for a sec on how to F our lives up and we get those moments of peace. They are what we live for. The times, brief and transient, where we find peace, love and complete wholeness. They are your child's birth ( as long as it does not have complications), your marriage and first bit of any relationship...the "honeymoon" phase where your other can say no wrong, and you would die before saying something wrong to them. family get togethers where you see and remember glimpse of earlier home times. a beautiful scene where you are simply so awestruck that you forget life for even a sec and just stand in harmony with nature. music that tugs on your soul and makes you forget the pain, and you just hear the soaring pleasure and rightness of the moment.
There is no Home, we all have many homes...although we can never go back there. They are just stops on the journey of life, until we bounce back though and start again.
Remember we all want this, even though we all have different visions of it. We are all just fellow travelers on the road. So be nice to others and help them make it to their next home if you can. At least do not hinder them. try to enjoy the little moments that are not quite home, but are enjoyable for you. Stay strong, and find peace when you can.

Just some thoughts on the subject. It is a very pretty song, and perhaps one of my home moments. Thank you, Aron for it.
