I know you know you have the same kind of feeling: The 80s are some kind of prime example for retro and our lives, because they stand for beginning, hope, youth, beauty, love and looking up into the sky hoping for the best, with the year 2000 not even being on the horizon. all the 90s were like one big colourful countdown party to the Y2K. And now? darkness. So you look at these old pictures and the aking starts.

Had it great in the 80s as a teenager. The music the life the summer evenings watching the sunset while day turned to night. Listening on your Walkman while out in those warm summer evenings laying in the grass watching the clouds pass and hoping time would freeze and you'd never leave that moment. Then you live a lifetime of moments and look back over 40 years and say did I appreciate it.. The answer... Not enough.

1984, senior year of high school— We’d go straight from dancing all night at San Francisco underground New Wave warehouse parties to the beach at sunrise, lit on pure Exxstacy (hey it was still legal back then!).. home for a long nap and then back to it, all summer long. Flash to 2022, scary and mean times but I close my eyes and this track as with so much Synthwave is an instant time machine back to those young glowing and hopeful days. Keep it coming!

I love the concept of brand new nostalgia. In my life I have mined all the vans of the kinds of music that I liked back in the day to exhaustion. Occasionally I go hunting for obscure stuff that I never heard, but I rarely come across any, and each time I try to find less. So the fact that somebody is making brand new old-fashioned new wave music reminds me of the 17 year old that used to be and it feels my 54-year-old heart with a teeny amount of joy.
