2024 BMW 540i xDrive, POV Start Up, Test Drive, Walkaround and Review

👋 In todays review I drive the all new 2024 BMW 5 series! This is a super comfortable luxury sedan with many features! The 2024 BMW 540i xDrive is finished off in a very popular BMW color called Brooklyn Grey! I love how nice the suspension handles and performs. It's a quick car, not loud by any means, but that's not its purpose. It would be a great daily driver, it offers a lot of space on the interior whether you have people or storage. The rear seats are a bit on the tight side, but still work and of course you can always upgrade to the seven series if you really need more space and it is more comfortable than the three series space! The exterior on this 2024 BMW 540i has a great look with crisp lines and the color is one of my favorite on this vehicle! This is pretty much fully loaded and even has the M sport and M sport pro package which provides the wheels, brakes, suspension and steering and it has a great amount of technology and an easy layout with the latest infotainment system from BMW! It has a minimal amount of buttons which makes it easy to use, and the materials on the interior are very nice! I love the wood trim and brushed aluminum, it makes it have an elegant design and look. The driving performance is great and I love the different modes from Eco pro if you want great MPG or Sport to have some spirited driving!

Thanks for the great review! Was waiting for a 540 review and an opinion on the B58. Kind of bummed that the North American version is not getting rear climate controls at this price point.

Drove a G60 540i recently. Mega chassis, incredible engine + transmission combo. Not perfect though.

1) Cause the car is taller now (the same body is used for EV and ICE cars, so new 5er has extra few inches in the bottom to house the battery, ICE cars won't have the battery, obviously, but extra height is still a thing ) the seating position is a bit funky, definitely not the same as it used to be in g30. Almost like an SUV, not quite like it, but almost.

2) For the same reason as above, the visibility is compromised, it's not terrible but not great either. The car is big now and it's getting a feel of dimensions is not intuitive.

Comparing to an Audi, this is a no brainer rly. Same performance numbers as s6 (at least 0-60 is identical - 4.4 seconds), smoother drivetrain, more capable chassis and drumroll.... an s6 is around 7-8k more expensive.

Unless you're put off by styling and seating position of the bimmer - the latter is a logical choice.

About to order a new 540i with the MSport package...do you think there is a downside to getting the 20" wheel upgrade (it's only about $600 more) rather than the standard 19" wheels from a ride quality? The 20s definitely look better than the 19s. As a daily driver, I worry about the 20s being too rough. Thanks.

Got one of these today as a loaner. I have to replace a headlight on my 240. It was fogging up. I think BMW has been having this problem with a lot of their cars recently. Anyway, the interior looks very similar to the 240 till I paid attention a bit more and it's really nice in there. The sport mode is soft. It feels like normal mode in my car. But I like it. It's definitely more geared towards luxury. I used to comment on cars looks, but I think everyone should realize that that is just subjective. Subjective. We might not like the looks of one car but many other people do. So it's not relevant in my opinion. But wait there is one exception. One very important exception that hideous abomination that Tesla made that looks like a cockroach with an open deck in the back

These cars might be getting a little to funky for me, I think I prefer Audi, I’d say this and an S5 about the same class and I wouldn’t hesitate to take the Audi

i hated this car when it came but when i seen in person at a dealer. it is a beautiful. the audi s5 is beautiful but it just looks too small
