Two Altons, Two Tours

Setting things straight regarding my two upcoming tours, one for signing my new book Food for Thought, and the other for my big live (and last) culinary variety show Alton Brown Live: Last Bite.

I grew up in Georgia (GO DAWGS!!) and as a kid I used to watch Good Eats with my mom. As a kid, I loved how you explained the science of cooking, often bringing on experts on while lampshading the grandeur of cooking as a topic.

With y'alls creative style of "campy" production value - yet honest and easy to follow recipes, I will forever be in gratitude.

You were, and still are to me the "Bill Nye" of the culinary arts

I hate to see you go, but I will always respect and fondly see your legacy and the impact you've left on multiple generations.

P.S. for almost any recipe I look up, it is usually followed by "Alton Brown." Whenever I make baked mac and cheese for a big family event I always follow your recipe and it's always a big hit!

I got to see Mr Brown in Pensacola last month. I loved the show but really enjoyed the Q&A session for the VIP audience. Alton is quick with wit and fascinating to listen to. Thanks for the Pensacola stop.

If this truly is Alton's farewell tour I'll be sad. Still it'll be nice knowing that the mad scientist Thomas Dolby of the cooking world will still be creating havoc in a kitchen somewhere.

I'm crestfallen to learn of your announcement of retiring. This is your time for you so I join in Spirit to celebrate you and your future opportunities.
HOWEVER, I am sad to hear we will be losing yet another mainstay in culinary and pop culture. I've collected your books, watched your shows, joined in your cooking in your home kitchen during covid by way of my TV while in isolation and felt something like a friend of sorts since your public persona was so familiar and well liked. There has never been an approach to cooking like what you brought. And you made me think, "I can do this too!"
Please pop into social media and YouTube from time to time to keep us all updated on how your life and dog are going.

I understand the logistical reasons why a Canadian tour isn’t feasible, but it still makes me sad. Excited to see clips and posts of the tours though! And i already have the new book on reserve at the local library!
