India Covid Crisis: UK aid arrives as deaths continue to surge| 5 News

► UK aid has begun to arrive in India to help tackle the country's devastating wave of Covid.

Around 200 ventilators and oxygen devices have landed in Delhi which is the first international shipment to arrive in the country. Despite efforts, a health advisor has described this as just a drop in the ocean after the country recorded 2 million new cases in the past week alone.

India is now reporting more cases than any country since the pandemic began with its hospitals now at full capacity. The lack of oxygen required for ventilators remains a key issue and has now become a “black market commodity” for those desperate to help loved ones.

Julian Druker's report features images of mass cremations, which some may find upsetting.
