Yaskawa Motoman Flex Feeding

Flexible feeding is feeding multiple part types without hard tooling, making it a great alternative to bowl feeders and other devices that are designed for a specific part size and shape.

In this example, a Flexomation feeder moves the parts out and separates them from one another. This feeder also has a flip function to reorient parts when "up" or "down" is important. The camera for the MotoSight 2D vision system is mounted above the feeder.
The camera takes a picture, locates the part, and transfers the location to the Motoman MH5 robot, so it can pick the part.
