Week 4 Trombone Instruction: Breathing and Posture

Domingo Pagliuca is principal trombonist for the Palm Beach Symphony and the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra. A native of Venezuela, Pagliuca began his musical activities at a very young age at the Jose Angel Lamas Music Conservatory in Caracas. In 1989, Pagliuca entered the University of Miami, where he graduated cum laude with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in instrumental performance. He has given master classes in universities and music festivals in the United States, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Finland, Germany, Austria. Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Venezuela. In this series of videos, Palm Beach Symphony's principal trombone player Domingo Pagliuca explores trombone fundamentals, including breathing and posture, air and sound emission, practicing articulation with the metronome, and syncing slide movement with articulation.
