It’s a great little radio! Thanks again for the assist when I was struggling with my code plug!

Have this radio, use it for DMR only, seems not too good for analog use as far as reception. I am also concerned about its durability, I am sure it won’t survive being dropped, don’t want to find out. Also wish it could be opened up (MARS Modded) for potential emergency use. For every day out and about I use a VX6R due to it being very rugged. Nice video.

I get 2.5 hours of battery life out of my 878UV II+ and that is just monitoring.

Not sure why. I have been only monitoring for 2 weeks and it needs a charge every 2.5 days. No TX at all.

Other than the battery, the 878 is beautiful. I love it. It performs well, sounds good on audio checks and seems to put out good power as advertised. DMR programming in CPS is relatively easy but the CPS itself needs a lot more polish so I use a combination of RT Systems and the CPS to do the job. Why both? Sometimes RT Systems writes entries incorrectly and even changes some repeater settings on occasion. I like the software and it is a bargain for what it costs and does, but it, too, can use a little more polish.

TL;DR
Radio is amazing but battery could be better. It performs very well and I love the features. The latest firmware introducing the SATELLITE functions is amazing. Love the predictions.

Nope, you're dead wrong! It's the best UV HT on the market. Regardless that it has DMR and APRS!

No other HT has the TX or RX of the AT 878
The Mic and Speaker are only comparable to the ID-52A
No other radio has a battery as robust as the AT 878
The user interface is hands down the most intuitive.
It's durable!

My only Con, it's only IP54.
