The Mystery of Morpho Knight

In the 2 latest Kirby games, we get our first look at Morpho Knight! They first show up by completely obliterating the strongest warrior in the galaxy, ok, cool. Just dust Galacta Knight then ok, dear lord. I never expect Kirby lore to go as wild as it does, but that's just the world we live in huh. Wacky.

The funniest thing is that he's literally more canon than Galacta Knight, the guy we've been fighting for decades before

It seems to me that Morpho Knight is some sort of grim reaper that reaps stubborn souls, that is those who should be passing on to the afterlife but refuse to do so. Examples include Galacta Knight, obviously, since he’s an ancient warrior who seems to have been around since the time of the Ancients, so his time had been up for a long time. Many of Kirby’s Dream Friends also probably have been living on borrowed time, like Marx who I’m pretty sure we’ve seen be blown up along with Nova, and Dark Meta Knight, who was shattered to pieces, yet the both of them are somehow still alive during Star Allies (on a side note, perhaps the Dream Palaces can bring people back to life?). Morpho Knight was also probably after Elfilin since he’s half of Fecto Elfilis, and if they were going to reap Fecto Forgo then they might as well get Elfilin as well.

In other words, they’re sort of a cosmic cleanup crew, like how bugs eat dead things in nature to keep them from piling up and spreading diseases.

I don't wanna sound like "that guy", but Morpho Knight's design was never meant for Meta Knight, though I used to believe that myself. It was actually going to appear in the cancelled GameCube Kirby platformer that would become Return to Dream Land.

about the monarch butterfly thing: morphos are actual butterflies, they're just uh. blue. for the most part. if you look up orange morpho butterfly you'll see images, albeit basically all of them are stock photos so im not sure how real they are lmao

everything about morpho knight is just so unique, between it basically being death itself the fact that it's taken over multiple different power beings now with Fecto Forgo being the most canon out of any of the hidden knight appearances it seems that it will be the new galacta knight especially with a concept like this. only thing i hope is that it doesn't end up being like galacta knight where it's just a harder meta knight because that got old real fast and i really like the idea that it's basically every butterfly in the kirby series since that could lead into some genuinely cool fights
