And yet she let's Rachel in because she stalked her, not because of her talent. I was so mad when Kurt didn't get in in season 3 it was total bullshit!!

Oh so Rachel gets a second chance after choking but Kurt can't have a second chance even after he was amazing the first time cos why exactly??

What really bothers me is that Kurts audition in season 3 was so emotional and personal and that she says that it was not enough. "Not the Boy next door" was perfect for Kurt. I do not See how Rachels "Its all coming back to me now" or "Paradise..." were more personal than Kurts audition.

She literally excused him on the fact that he was just showing surface, when that’s all high school performers ever show unless they’re one in a million. EXISTS to train people to be better whatever’s. A student in acting college should be trained in that school to be a better actor. All in all, she’s basically saying that you can’t get into Nyada unless you’ve already trained yourself to be on a higher level than 99% of high school actors/artists are. Aka, her logic is bullshit for more than one reason.

Carmen Tibideaux: Here’s a very talented young man who knows how to sell a number, but who is devoid of complexity and depth.
Kurt: What?
Carmen Tibideaux: You gave me Surface when I was looking for SOUL. We are training artists here, Mr Hummel; performers who are not afraid to show their vulnerability and yes even their heart. (Her saying that and her expression at the end, I think it shows that she really had such high hopes that he would prove her wrong; and he totally did later on)
Kurt: Madame Tibideaux, I have all of those things.

Me: Believe me, Madame Tibideaux, if you had seen every single song and solo that Kurt has sang on stage at competition or in Glee Club, you would know that he is definitely one of those artists that you would train for every moment you had. Twice that, if anyone had just as much or more talent as Chris Colfer did in real life and even for portraying Kurt Hummel in this show, then they don’t know who they’re competing with.

I know everyone is complaining about "why does Rachel get a second chance and Kurt doesn't?" but Carmen Tibideaux did exactly what she promised: If she gives a second chance, she does it on her terms. She knew that Rachel and Kurt both had what it takes to be at NYADA, but both failed to show what they are really capable of during their additions. Let's face it: Rachel wouldn't have gotten in if she nailed "don't rain on my parade" for the same reason Kurt didn't get in with "not the boy next door". It would have been a great performance but it would lack the vulnerability she was looking for. Putting them on the spot (Rachel by showing up at her performance and asking Kurt to sing with little to no preparation) was the best way to archive what Carmen wanted to see.
