@Guy Sebastian Ok, IDK where I've been for the last 5yrs but I'm incredibly grateful I've been graced by this song!

Actually, that's not accurate, it was one of the darkest, most defeating & painful periods in my 48 years & that includes 7 foot surgeries in 23 months, 5 PICC lines into my heart, infections, hundreds of doses of the strongest antibiotics that exist, more pain than I ever thought possible; multiple hospital stays (& 1 care center), physical therapy, in-home nurses, so many needle sticks that my veins gave out, a partial amputation, so many scars over my body, external fixator ("halos" with 14 metal rods through my foot, ankle & all the way up to my knee to reconstruct & reset the disintegrated foot bones where they had to rebreak & saw, as well as adding a very large screw to reattach & keep my foot & ankle bones attached.. I had literally - & no exaggeration! - broken over 10, 000 times in a year. You read that right, TEN. THOUSAND. TIMES. At least.) I'd guessed about 6k-7k times, & my doctor gave me the most serious look, & w/o hesitation said "Oh, it's possibly DOUBLE that. I guarantee it's been broken over 10, 000 times." With every step I took there was at least 1more break. Every step. We had no idea because I've had neuropathy since 12yo (36 yrs- that 3/4 of my life) & couldn't feel the pain, or we'd most likely discovered the damage sooner. I heard some popping & "crunching" but not all of it every time & maybe felt some pressure shifts. Finally did X-rays & found the culprit. What a sickening feeling. I have the most amazing & skilled doctor, he's the #1 specialist in my state as well as the surrounding states. I couldn't have been more blessed towards a resolution. *THIS ISN'T FOR ANY KIND OF SYMPATHY OR TO SAY I'VE BEEN THROUGH WORSE THAN OTHERS. Long story longer 😶 I came across the song by Guy Sebastian & I have listened to it almost non-stop for days @ a time for about 4mos now. Hundreds of times. It says what I feel. I have been blessed beyond compare to be alive, have both of my legs & feet & most of my toes. My last surgery was late 2021. I went from being completely restricted to slowly & steadily increasing the amount of walking/activity I could do. At the beginning of 2023 I was still only allowed to be up on my feet for up to 20minutes at a time then had to be down for 2hrs, more if necessary. No activity bc it'd increase heart rate & blood flow which could undo everything. My body was finally strong & healthy enough to by mid 2023 to be taken off of restriction as long as I didn't get too gungho about being upright after sooo long causing setbacks. I still can't handle being up on my feet for more than a couple hours at a time at most without getting weak, but alive. No antibiotics in almost a year. No hospitals, in-home nurses, no more crutches, walkers, wheelchairs or knee scooter. I have more hope for the future in months than the previous 5yrs. So hard not to feel defeated & completely overwhelmed.

THIS SONG GIVES ME FIGHT. IT DRIVES ME. IT GIVES ME POWER OVER IT ALL. I can't believe I'd never heard this song before. I had no way to for a good part of the time. (Oh yeah, I forgot that I became homeless right after the 1st surgery, for the next 2 1/2yrs. Haven't even thought about that in a while, yay!) I've been listening to this song for HOURS on repeat today & have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I love it beyond measure. It makes me happy, energetic & positive, all for which I'm undeniably & forever grateful for!
