Nice work on that courtyard! The only thing I would recommend is a screen or decorative panel to hide A/C unit. That might even block some of the noise.

Courtyard looks great! I think pavers around the garden bed will have more of a natural look n elevate the flower beds even more than the metal bed edging!!!

The rubber mulch is the best idea as it doesn’t break down or lose its colour. Bark mulch you end up having to refresh every year. Courtyard looks awesome.

This is wonderful, esp the Japanese Maple. My challenge is that I live in the desert. An oasis feel uses too much water. I'm leaning to a dry Italian modern design, no hardscaping, using decomposed granite. Finding plants, not many, that works in the desert while eschewing cacti.

I love that water feature.

Our issue is wind and heat. Designing around it will be a challenge.
