I was 15 when this song came out. Myself, my brother and our best friend used to listen to this all time when drinking (and other no so legal things). Life was so simple for us then and the line 'let's all meet up in the year 2000' always resonated with me because the year 2000 seemed so far off.

Now the year 2000 is almost two decades in the past and I am fast approaching 40.

What a fantastic piece of songwriting. Seriously, Jarvis is by far the best songwriter of his era, and probably one of the best ever. She died of Cancer a few years ago.
