Trick Copilot Steering Wheel and Gamepad

At the time of writing, the Xbox One co-pilot feature is only designed to work with an Xbox Adaptive Controller and standard Gamepads (or 2x Gamepads).

This method appears to be able to trick the system into allowing you to use a Gamepad alongside a Thrustmaster Steeringwheel (in this case an Xbox One Ferrari 458 Spider wheel).

The method is...

1. Pair/sync an Xbox One gamepad to your Xbox One.
2. Start from a complete shutdown with no games running.
3. Connect Wheel to side USB port on Xbox One.
4. Manually turn on the Xbox One.
5. Sign in via the Wheel.
6. Start a driving game via the wheel ("Engine Start" is a d-pad).
7. At the games menu navigation screen, power up your Xbox One gamepad. The light should stop flashing and stay on on the controller.
8. See if you can navigate the menus with gamepad and steering wheel. If the steering wheel stops responding, press Xbox button, then B to go back to the game.
9. Play!
