Rip Bismark and Hood, and all the crew members that lost there lives that day on those two ships. Very fierce historic battle.

Can we talk about how perfectly intact the Bismarck wreck is, that’s impressive

The absolutely most horrifying aspect of all these ships are the intact U-boats. You absolutely know they sunk from ruptured ballast tanks. Which means they did not sink like rocks, but drifted down. They also were above crush depth, so they did not implode from depth pressure. That means most, if not all, of the crew were alive when they hit bottom, never to surface again.

It’s amazing how miniscule these behemoths look when they are in ruins at sea

A moment of silence for everyone who died in these ships

There’s something beautiful, sad and haunting about sunken ships, they sit at the body of every ocean or sea, resembling nothing more than worn, shattered pieces of wood and metal, their crew nothing more than a memory, and for us, a piece of history we proudly rediscover in an attempt to learn about what sunk it in the first place, but for now, the ships and their crew will remain in their watery graves

If you’re still paying attention to comments on this video, Canadian archeologists have found the HMS Terror; sister ship of the Erebus.

2:48 The sonar image is of a cargo ship, with the large rectangular openings to the cargo holds. HMS Sussex, pictured above it, was not sunk. It was broken up for scrap in 1950.
