I have 2 original Delta Pros with 2 batteries for each and they've been so reliable it's hard to justify getting the DP3. I also have 2 Delta Pro Ultras with 2 batteries each.

If one's needs are very light (under 2kWh, 2400W), then one might consider the Delta 2 Max, which is currently running around $1300 or $0.65 per Wh. The Delta Pro is running around $2100 which is $0.58 per Wh. One gives up some features of course, and don't expect any upgrades.

The Delta 2 Max extra battery runs around $1100, or $0.55 per Wh. The Delta Pro 3 is running about $3200, or $0.80 per Wh which is the premium you pay for 240V native output.

I own a DP with two EBs. I will not be upgrading until they increase the voltage on the DC input. Most 400 and 500 watt solar panels are near 50 volt voc. My 545 watt panels have a VOC of 49. This limits me too 2S2P and the most I see for charge wattage is 1, 400 watts on cold days. and 1, 200 watts all summer long.

DPU ftw, Glad to see you still have the BRZ. Traded my FRS for a 718 Cayman but still miss her tbh.

The limitation with all of these is the smart home panel 2, it only offers 12 breaker slots, which is insufficient to cover all the needs of a whole home backup. For my home, I would need two ecoflow smart panels in my 1, 800 sq. Ft. Home, which adds a huge additional expense. Whole-home backup isn’t possible with any of these systems unless you live in a small 1 bedroom or tiny home.

Good video but was hoping for a little more "can do's" of the Ultra. For emergency backup I would like to be able to run my 3 ton heat pump with soft start and a frig and freezer at a minimum all at the same time. I have seen other videos and websites hinting that the Ultra as you show it in your video with one inverter and one battery can handle this. WHAT would be your answer with this?? Thanks for the info and again, good video!

I will clarify.
Delta pros ring should have more battery's to it. I'd like to put it as stackable, but I think there should be 2 stackables of them and.
Maybe 16 of those I mean, check for Ford. 1000 W on top of that, another 4001 step. What does it make 2 stacks of and make 2 stacks for high and have 2 sections like the Delta pro and have one hack up a lot more power than it be worth something, but I wish it was more like a 4500 W generator but then it's 2, it's not any. Good because you guys 7200 and what generator so I'm thinking I should be a 4800 watch generator when you connect 3 of them together. That was pretty dumb good. Then I don't have something good to say about.I would like to Delta pro's solution.Except for the cords and it'll be fixed on if you make the delta pro three

You just nailed the biggest problem with this, these products change every year. Good luck getting it repair or supported in two years, especially on the large (VERY expensive) ones. Most people are far better served with a real inverter/battery setup than these big units

Wouldn't recommend paying over $2k on any mid size generator.

I have received multiple confusing answers to this and the manual is unclear. Multiple YouTubers have given different answers on this. Could you clear this up.

Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra
What is the connectivity/capability of the DPU to charge from the 240v side 5+8 (Infinity) port and also provide 120v and 240v output on the front panel if the SHP2 is NOT being used.

In other words can it charge the batteries while running the inverter. In the DP3 this is called X-Fusion which the DPU seems to have but only outlines the use of the 120v input.

I know it does not do pass-thru but it does do a bypass mode. So if we have a generator connected to the 240v in port and the generator is providing lets say 2000 watts. Will the front 240v outlet be powered? If it has 1000watts of load at the moment will the batteries be charges with the balance (1000 watts minus charging and inverting losses)?

Any help is appreciate, this answer is impacting my buying decision.

All true
Just do more research on each. So I bought the ultra and tried to do 1 solar 18v 200watts and it doesn't work. You need minimum 30volts for it to work. Just a heads up that info is no where to be found online that I've seen

You need to explain surge requirements as well for some equipment please.

It would be interesting to compare Pro + extra battery vs Ultra

I have a MAX 2 and love it for power outages. I want to upgrade to the DP for more composite, but I’m thinking there going to discontinue it. And I don’t want the DP3 because of the price and I don’t need 240v

Can you input charge the delta pro ultra with a standard U.S. wall outlet AND simultaneously output to a transfer switch? I didn't know that. I don't have solar yet, so wanted to charge from the grid and use it more like a UPS+backup for critical loads on the transfer switch. Ecoflow says you can't do this. I don't know why, but maybe because of the floating neutral?
