Dropbox File Sharing - What You Need to Know!

Question: I have Regular Files and Shared Files displayed on my personal account info page. If I delete regular files I open up more space, however, I don't know how to delete "Shared Files" to open up more space. Is there a way to do reduce/delete the shared files so I open up more space? I have placed some files in a shared folder in my dropbox and notified the sharer . How can I tell when they have read or downloaded it/them so I can delete them.

I accidentally saved some sensitive files into a shared dropbox folder on my PC because the stupid desktop program made the dropbox folder my default 'save as' location. This folder was created by someone else (admin) as a shared folder who gave me edit access. I tried to delete those files on my PC and also online. Will the folder owner be able to view/restore those files?
