Looks like all the inflatable plane needed was a collapsible spar to to strengthen the wings a bit.

I find it funny how they just wanted something that looked like a flying saucer FIRST, then worry about how they can get it to fly 😂

Zimmerman's flying apparatus looks amazing. They should upgrade that as an autonomous heavy drone that can fire Hellfire missiles and cluster rockets all unmanned.

They only tell half the story here... MUCH was invented that we still use today.

Go to Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton Ohio its awesome and free. You can stand under B52 and the Sauser and check out wright brothers first plane the place is just awesome. Heck you can sit in a F14 cockpit without a license to fly. Heck another nice stop is in Huntsville Alabama at the rocket center that place is sweet also!! There is a SR71 out front also man its a cool stop.

fail or not, they are still cool. can only imagine how they would be if they tried the same things with today's tech.

I have loved the Avro Car ever since I knew it existed... Just before it became public knowlage.
That was one of the major things that inspired me to become a quadcopter pilot.

i saw the Avrocar on Facebook marketplace years ago posted for 2 jet skis and a dual trailer to haul them.. the person that posted it was saying it needed some crazy fuel to be able to fly again. it was probably made inoperable when it was sold to the public

The pentagon got the plans for that saucer from a planet Zork handyman-sciences magazine titled Zork Handyman-Sciences build it yourself projects. But the Pentagon thought this was an antigravity death ray capable Zorkstroyer. So it is a real flying saucer with unknown capablities. The capabilities we have seen are just bugs that have to be worked out. The soviets built the same thing out of battleship armor and their method of attack was to leave it in a stable position and let the Americans come to them.

I wonder how much of the jetpack and saucer type tech had German origins.

Would they have tried to make this if they had not something to base it on. I think not. But they failed. 😂

The. Avro car as it was called was originally manufactured by Avro Canada .The cancellation aof the cf105 arrow program basically sunk Avro Canada and its assets were destroyed or sold off..the u.s. military bought the prototype and tried to continue with the research but it never really took flight so to speak
