I worked for an oyster farm, and we grew ours both spread out onto beds (some then picked by hand but mostly harvested by dredging), and some were attached to lines that were placed where they could be reached on foot at low tide. My question is this: it seems like they would be less apt to have proper nutrition in a place where they are suspended in open water, do you think theyre more susceptible to problems in this environment or are there upsides to this that arent obvious to me? I know farming for pearls and farming for food are dofferenr games but theyre the same animals so just wkndering what the thoughts are.
