How to install a custom map in Minecraft (see new video in description)

i just got the map to work and i have barely even started playing and i am brought nearly to tears because of the nostalgia and how beautiful it is. I am immediately re reading the harry potter books when i'm done.

For anyone who is confused on how to download this, I think I figured it out (I have an HP laptop, not a Mac but I assume they work the same). Go to the download link that many people have left in the comments and download it to your computer. When it's finished, drag it from the bottom of your screen or in your downloads folder onto your desktop. Extract the files (I chose 'Extract files HERE' using WINRAR but you can use whatever software you have) and that should've extracted a folder saying onto your desktop. Start up Minecraft (I'm using version 1.11.2) and open the resource folder. Follow his steps in this video to get to the saves folder and drag the 7by folder into the saves folder along with the regular zip file. I think from there, it should be in your singleplayer tab... hope this helped.

For those saying it isn't working: I am the most technologically inept person there is, and I got this to work on Windows 10. Download the file, then move it to the saves folder as shown. Right click and select "extract all" (it gave me a zip folder). Once it is extracted, go into this folder, select the folder inside (it is labeled something along the lines of floo powder), cut it and paste it to the saves folder. This is a crucial step as it needs to be outside of the newly extracted zip folder in order for minecraft to acknowledge it. Now you can rename this folder if you like to read something like "Harry Potter world" and it should show up in singleplayer. Because it is a 1.12 version, the game will ask you to backup and load the game since newer versions have come out since this was made.

Its amazing, had a bit of trouble getting it to be available in single player, but dropped the 7by file (that's within the harry potter - ... file) into saves and it worked, its amazing OMG

When you put the file into saves, go into the Harry Potter file and click the one that says "7By" and drag that one to saves. Then it should appear

I can't get this to appear either. I have extracted the files to the save folder, but nothing appears in Singleplayer.

Everything seems fine but when i open them map i just get put in a room with a bunch of command blocks. I tried using the book to teleport but it doesn't work...

I have it in the saves folder but it's in a winzip and I don't know how to extract it... do I have to get something it extract it with? halp. I'm in love the Harry Potter, books and movies, and would love to explore this...

i did everything as you said, but I just get "make everything look hogwartsy" in the resource pack menu, and there is no world in single player mode
