Hes afraid they will hurt him, leave him, replace him so he leaves them first so he doesn't have to feel the pain of being abandoned by someone he loves
I really hope the show explains more of his backstory but all in all this comic is freaking amazing and i love it

After reading this I finally realized why he adopted Loona. It's because he related to the trauma, loneliness and the PTSD they do share. (Loona definitely shows it subtlety)

This actually shows us all of blizo's love life trauma because if you look really closely you can see the silhouette of everyone he's been with and how he keeps pushing everyone away

If you pay attention at the beginning stolas calls blizø his "Darling little imp" which could be another thing that could set him off sense he see's himself as just a worthless little imp

PTSD is a real thing, and in this scenario not only in comic form but irl, if your partner wants to put a collar on you or you want to put a collar on your partner during "that" ask if they're okay with it and ask if they really are okay with it or not. Because some people have PTSD from things and a collar or choker may be a trigger, so triple check just to be safe for you and your partner.

FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T WATCHED HELLUVA BOSS!
In one of the episodes of Helluva boss it shows Moxie and Blitzø trapped in a room. The room fills with gas, they pass out cold, and began to experience either their fears or their wants. Moxie experiences his wants, while Blitzø experiences his fears. In his fears it shows Stolas pulling a gold chain attached to his neck, he pulls him up to him. Blitzø is either scared of love or being controlled. I think thats what this is about.
