Story goes that in the original movie they use the lake that was on my great grandmother's farm to shoot the lake scenes there. Can't remember exactly where the farm was but it was up in North west Sussex county, in the area of Stillwater and blairstown

There's a camping grounds on the out skirts of Algonquin IL that used to have a big sign out front welcoming locals to camp Crystal lake. Last I saw it's a dirt road leading to the lake and the old buildings for campers and staff

Friday the 13th part two was in Ct, in Kent so the bantom & litchfield signs make sense. I’ve always was told it was Ct but they def used different locations for sequels

The original location for the town is in Blairstown, NJ. Blairstown is in Warren County. The camp is a boy scout camp called No-Be-Bo-Sco in Hardwick, NJ. Also, in Warren County. They have showings at the actual filming location every yr on Friday the 13th of that yr and on anniversary yrs. There is a museum dedicated to the making of the movie, and most of the actual stores and the diner are still there. Live in NJ and go every so often. I do live by a Crystal Lake, but it's in Bordentown, NJ. Florence Township, which is South Jersey whereas Blairstown and Hardwick are North Jersey.
