On December 7, at the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO) meeting, European health ministers had a chance to reflect on the current response to the pandemic and look f ahead to future responses. Conclusions on Strengthening the European Health Union were also discussed, along with the ongoing legislative proposals relating to health. The meeting also offered an opportunity for the incoming French Presidency to put forward their work programme for the next six months.
At this CHES Policy Briefing, EPC Policy Analyst Laura Rayner reflected on the achievements of the Slovenian Presidency in relation to health. This was also followed by a presentation of the French Presidency’s priorities in the area of health by Constance Favereau, Health Attaché at the Permanent Representation of France to the EU. The Briefing was chaired by Hans Martens, Chair of CHES and Senior Adviser to the EPC.
