This is the new Ford Ecosport. For some reason Ford wants us to call it the Echo-sport. Either way, its the latest generation of a car which has proved very popular in South Africa. So is this new one any good, and should you buy one?

The Ecosport is based on a Fiesta. It has a Fiesta chassis, engine and gearbox, but its, you know, taller and the Ecosport is on average 10% more expensive than the equivalent Fiesta. This has allowed it to tap into South Africans’ love of SUVs.

What is the reviews regarding Titanium 1.0 Automatic range?

I can't stand the previous Ecosport's center stack. Really ugly. Glad this new one is now quite handsome.

The CX3 would win hands down if it had a turbo range. The EcoSport TDCi in titanium trim would be a winner but in ambiente it is super skimpy. The VW T Cross comes default with adaptive cruise conrol/limiter with front impact detection along with park assist and park distance control but has a DSG model with the same power a EcoSport TDCi has.

On balance VW is winning the cross suv segment just for all round inclusion, it is expensive though. The upper tier R Line is pricey but has a bigger engine and the new T Roc has thrown another spanner in the works.

I really wanted a TDCi titanium offering and I think ford have dropped the ball

back seat leg space together with the small boot is very small for a SUV. Quite annoying because the reason for buying and SUV over hatchback the bigger space and this car doesnt have much more of it. Edit: Upon watching another review there is more space underneath the boot which this person did not mention so the boot is actually big.

Have 1.1 petrol, 125 hp/ more then 3 years.
For my neads/ no kids, higher clearens, not big but big enough, easy to parking and handeling/perfect car.
I am exeptionaly happy👌🙂

it's fine if you're a medium /slim build.. If you're a large built bloke like me You'll feel cramped inside. I kept banging my right am on the drivers door. (UK) .. So go for a Focus / C-Max or a Kuga instead
