Here's a Pokemon theory about Cubone's true origin. Are Cubone and Charmander actually the same Pokemon?

Interesting Theroy, except that its got some MAJOR flaws. Y's dex is this "From the time it is born, a flame burns at the tip of its tail. Its life would end if the flame were to go out." Now to me, that sentence shows the flame is there The Moment its born, so it doesnt really "recieve" it from its mother who bear in mind could be a charmander or Charmeleon as well. 2nd is the reason Alolan Marrowak is a fire ghost is due to Alolan culture and the Ultra wormhole energies causing the different forms, Meta reason is Alolan Marrowak is based off a Hawaiian war dance and ghost stories. And heres a very big one. What color are their eyes? Because Charmander from the sprite you used is blu, and Cubone's isnt blue. Aside from very RARE i stance, Pokemon Genetics are more percise that eye colors do not change between generations and this would remain the same

I’ve heard this theory, but data miners found that there was originally a 3rd Pokémon in the Cubone line, resembling a Kangaskhan with a skull carrying a baby Cubone

Cubone has one toe claw but charmander has three toe claws

Charmander without a flame would be a ghost type because it would be dead

It is almost confirmed that they are a kangaskahn’s kid since there was an unused marowack evo that looked incredibly like kangaskan.

I stand by my claim of cubone= kangaskhan child

I think Cubone resembles Kangaskhan's child. But Charmander's story also makes sense.

No because if it's flame goes out it dies you can't just be born without its Flame
It's also wouldn't just switch the Pokemon it would evolve into if it even was the case

See that would make sense if not for 1 crucial issue, pokedex entry reads " it's said that a charmander dies if it's tail flame ever goes out " and if you remember in pokemon indigo league when ash finds charmander it almost dies because it gets left in the rain by another trainer ( Damian )

The developers just accidentally draw a few too many similarities and then boom fan theories galore

I think that cubone is a subspecies of charmander

"where'd the fire type come from?"
You see the ghostly flames right?

Only argument I might make against it is that blue flames represent ghosts in general in Japanese mythology

I still prefer to think that kangaskhan is the mother... This does make sense though

You have earned a sub and also your theories are good because i never thought about that

It would make sense if they were relatives. They have different cries, and not to mention a Marowak still makes a Cubone. If the cubkne was never given the tail flame, then we could also assume one of two things. The Marowak either died in childbirth or was always ground type.
