I’ve just turned 18, I’m still in high school, but Tim Walz is the reason me and my siblings and friends get to eat at school without putting extra stress on our families. As a Minnesotan I can confidently say he’s been a great governor as far as I know, and I’m sure he’ll be a great vice president.

A veteran, teacher, football coach, and congressman who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. I hadn’t heard of him until today. I’m 19 and a woman, and this single night makes me excited that this is the first election I’ll ever vote for. Coach Walz. Man, I’ve played football my whole life. I’m from a small town where football is a second religion. After church we go and watch our team. Saturdays we take off for college football. I'm an Independent but after watching Tim Walz tonight, I've made up my mind. HE'S THE EPITOME of the average working-class American. He grew up on a farm, hes a Vet, a Gun-owner, hunter, master marksman.... he was a High School Social Studies teacher, and a football coach. Then was a Congressman and now 2 term Governor. HE SUPPORTS ALL WORKING PEOPLE, and above all, he supports their RIGHTS! 🇺🇸💪

Before 2016 I didn't understand that issues I cared about, and the values I believed in, were political issues. I didn't keep up with any of it and said I wasn't interested in politics. It took having Trump in office to wake me up to read, research, get involved and fight for the opposite of what Trump stands for. I registered to vote, went through deconstruction of religion, learned about what feminism is about, and educated myself so I knew what politicians stood for. The first election I voted was in 2020. While I was not super excited for Biden, my vote was less about him and more about getting Trump out. While I did admired things Biden accomplished the last 3.5 years, I am disappointed at his continuted support of the IDF. Voting this time around felt yucky and worrying about Trump getting in, and Project 2025 coming to fruition, was terrifying. I am thrilled to vote in November. I've never felt this way. Harris and Walz are my dream team. I just want to be proud of my country. I don't want the sight of the American flag to make me cringe. Trump and MAGA have made the flag, patriotism, and pride in our county feel disgusting. That needs to change.
