The sound of the PRS on video is more even and consistent. To be honest in a blindfold test I doubt that the newer MIM Strats do not sound as good. In short without a blindfold test 99% of us let our eyes do the listening,
I have a Custom Shop Strat and recently I got a 28 year old made in America Peavey Strat copy.
The Peavey sounds noticeably better. It has buckets of that bell like Strat chime and keeps it even when I use heavy distortion. Note ...it has the same woods but it is as noted aged over 28 years.

They both resonate nice.like the Fenders dark rosewood board ..if I were to buy one of em...it wud be the Fender..just my biased nature toward the real Stratocaster....I’m sure the prs...is a great playing instrument...maybe more comfortable than the actual strat.

If I wanted a vintage 63/64 strat, without having to spend excessive amounts on a 'real' 63/64 strat, I would buy the PRS Silver Sky. Controversial? maybe - but quality counts more to me than the name on a headstock or even the headstock shape itself. No one also knows if the 'fender' you are playing is a Mexican made cheap fender or a custom shop either...

Instead of making custom shop reliced guitars how about using nitro on the finish so all guitars can become relics? Quite honestly I think Fender should be suing all the strat copiers. I guess only Gibson can sue for their design.

Suhr wins here. Much better than any Fender or PRS. If you want vintage it's Fender hands down if you want everything else go for a Suhr.

Fender wins for me. That PRS headstock is hideous. Sorry. And with its vintage radius. If it’s not set up right with the action you’re going to choke out when u bend the strings.

It sounds good, feels light enough, and has a fun neck to play on. Other than that it's shit...

2300 bucks for no back cover, no case, no stainless steel frets, no locking tuners, and a ugly ass butt rock emo prs signature look on half of the guitar. Rip off... So is a custom shop but at least a custom shop fender wont get you laughed at as much lol.
