At today's Budget debate, some MPs questioned the timing of the move to raise the Central Provident Fund monthly salary ceiling to $8,000 by 2026 from the current $6,000. One said the change appears to target workers earning more than $6,000 monthly, and questioned if the government considers this group at risk of retirement inadequacy.
