American universities = money earning. As Belgian academic, dear Chinese students go to Europe or stay in China that is my advice. Much better quality in Europe or China ! I sincerely believe Asia has many top tier universities that have been unjustly graded by Western regulated standards. If more Asian countries come together to form a Asian education organisation to:
1. Set up a standard of regulation and practices to groom teachers who have the passion to teach our young ones with world class pedagogical strategies and content knowledge. These standards should reflect traditional Asians values and characteristics as one of its core to ensure we nurture the leaders of our future with a servitude and compassionate leadership mentality.
2. Set a standardise curriculum that allows students to gain conceptual mastery of core subjects through applications of knowledge in authentic real life situations.
3. Establish a regular exchange program between student teachers and/or students to encourage sharing of knowledge and experience.
I believe its time for Asia to set aside difference in religions and culture, to be united and stand up together. Asia has been trading amongst itself for thousands of years, seeing many examples of influence of each other cultures across regions because of trade. We have been friends since time memorial, so let's stay as friends and help each other again. Now is the time my friends.

The right question to ask: When will Chinese students stop dreaming or wanting to study in America? Why don't they want to do research in China? As long as Chinese talents still want to go the US, the pressure from the US is going on. For China, is it pride or shame to send talents overseas forever?

In recent years, I have observed with much sadness, Chinese tourists continue to pour into countries some of which have expressed that they are not welcome. Where is the self respect and dignity that the Chinese is so proud of their country on the way to become the biggest economy of the world. So is education. As if there are no better university than USA or Australia?

China needs to invest more on education by raising standards and recruiting the best lecturers that money can buy. China can build itself as the Centre of learning to the world.

It is high time Chinese shed off their inferiority complex and worship the West is Best. Holidaying and studying overseas with few exception of world’s first class universities, are viewed more as a social status that you have arrived rather than the acquisition of best knowledge.

The pandemic and entailed lockdown has caused colossal damage to the economy. It is thus the duty of every Chinese to support the country’s economy by buying China made products, support local banks (top 4 largest bank in the world are from China) studying in local universities and spending holidays within China. Cut overseas education to post graduates courses. Young children left to be educated in foreign lands will, from experience, never return to China.
