For Sure...it's in the right hands! Thank you for sharing this "Grand Opening"!

Thanks, one the best un-boxing videos I've seen for a while. From box cut open, to explanation of everything inside it one by one.

if that scope costs 13K  I truly hope it prints money as a second function.

I know the feeling of getting a new piece of gear, looks great!  Should be a great addition.

I wouldn't have been able to resist smelling it. The heck, I even imagined how it would smell! :)

Awesome! I was excited when I received my Agilent scope and still love it! I think that is a very nice scope you have. Look forward to seeing more on it! I do like the demo board, I don't have one but I believe there are some internal test signals in the Agilent but have not played with them much. Just the probe calibration square wave.

Yes!  But where will you put it on your bench?!    (Thats the problem i always have when new gear arrives)

Congrats on the purchase, Alan. I'd love one but can't justify the cost yet.

You know what might be a good video, do an honest review and comparison of the Tek scope up against an Agilent to see what the differences are. I bought my Agilent scope based on feedback and owning an Agilent Bench DMM, but I am a bit attached to the Tek scopes since I have owned a 2246 for years now and it looks brand new still! Not a ding or scratch on it. CRT still sharp as ever! My Tek 2246 has been a solid performer over the years.

Nice bit of kit.  You must be a Zen Master of control I would have been so hyper barely getting words out let alone a sentence. Cheers, Mark

Nice video Alan. Unboxing new equipment always makes me feel like on Christmas day as a little kid. Can't wait to get my MDO in the mail! Does the demo board come with all the MDOs? I always thought they're just handed out to Tek sales / apps reps.

Oh! How I wish I could afford more of these toys...

Like I said, Tek is giving these things out like Tic Tacs recently it seems. I think Dave, Martin and you now have one.  Though I was half expecting you'd end up with one anyway. :)

Got some serious 'scope envy. I like my 500 MHz LeCroy WaveRunner 2 and all, but it doesn't quite compare, and I've got a decided lack of logic analyzer capabilities. Counting clocks can get a bit tedious.

awesome, something using a frequency synth would be nice to see, looking at both the time and frequency domains

Hi Alan, thanks for the video. I am considering purchasing a MDO3022 and need your advices about the AFG module. In principle, the fast edge pulse generator you taught us to build can serve my purpose. I just wonder if the AFG provided by Tektronix could be better or not.

shame it doesn't do time correlated time/frequency domain like the 4000 series. looks like a brilliant piece of gear
