0:07 "...that basically help us see these objects in a very different light." I see what you did there!

Brown Dwarfs are some of my favorite stellar objects. I love them. They're so weird and fascinating!

Purple magenta dwarves! Love to see these giants up close. Bet they're gobbsmackingly gorgeous IRL. Thank you for sharing. I've always love learning astronomy news.

Of the 100 stars in the closest proximity to the sun, the sun is bigger than all but six of them. (Not counting any brown dwarfs)

Apparently formation is a more extensive continuum than may have been imagined. We seem to be seeing Proto-stellar Remanent Objects that had substantial Dt fusion, some that seem to have experienced less or variable Dt fusion, and some that may not have had any at all, but may radiate purely from residual heat of formation. And apparently there's a vast range of chemical dynamics, varying, at the very least, based on metallicity, or lack thereof, and perhaps on rotational characteristics and, now, even multi-body dynamics. Great show! And, as always, wonderful work. 👍

If you haven't already seen it you might find this interesting.

"The Initial Mass Function Based on the Full-sky 20-pc Census of ∼3, 600 Stars and Brown Dwarfs"

(J. DAVY KIRKPATRICK, FEDERICO MAROCCO, CHRISTOPHER R. GELINO, YADUKRISHNA RAGHU,
JACQUELINE K. FAHERTY, DANIELLA C. BARDALEZ GAGLIUFFI, STEVEN D. SCHURR, KEVIN APPS, ADAM C. SCHNEIDER,
AARON M. MEISNER, MARC J. KUCHNER, DAN CASELDEN, et al. and (literally) a cast of thousands)

Love the T-shirts too.... They're "wonderful".

All those sci-fi TV shows and movies you saw of spaceships flying near to a star or the "sun?" That's about the actual brightness of a brown dwarf. You can probably look at them just as directly.

I love that WISE1828 is an “ultra-cool brown dwarf.” Now I really want to send out a multi-generational ship there!

I wonder if we could send up a few more mini James webbs and have them work in sync. They’d be up at the LeGrange point, a few miles away, and we could have effectively a wider telescope.
