I lost my pops this year February 21, 2023 … this song was one of his favorites. It’s hard listening to this song without thinking about him. I miss him a lot.

My dad would be proud of me for keeping this kind of music alive. Lost him back in August of 23. I love you ❤

So...I wrote this song on a rainy day...with the late Barbara Moore...we kept messing with it...when got to this version...she said...Maybe we could try it this other way..I was like..NOPE! This is it...leave it just like THIS! The next day we played for Michael Zager..the producer...and he played it for Gerald..the rest is history! Thank you for all the L💘VE.

When I was a kid my mother used to play this after her and my dad would argue. I cry when I listen to it now! She went to be with the Lord! November 24, 2010. Miss you mom! 🙏

Truth be told, there is nothing like real black music or real black music. We are the real deal.

Most of us have seen and felt that little signs of distance at some point in our lives. Painful

My daughter said. When I left. Her dad my husband kept playing this song. Wow the words & he love to hear me sing. Are so true. He has lost me! Love hurts. But we gotta move on. Mainly if drugs are his number 1 love. She said...Mama dad misses you. Now I'm listening 2 the words with tears in my eyes.

Gerald Alston, one of the most underrated singers ever. Great voice. Caught them in Dallas in the mid 80's. Great show!

Those 'little signs of distance' are painful. You know you're feeling them and yet you can't bring them up for fear that if you're wrong, it will create distance. Ugh! The worst feeling.
