► Follow Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs:

Lyrics:
Yeah your Papa knows what your Mama will never understand
How far a young girl will go for the love of a London man
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now

Can you feel the night flowing through your bones?
With your highflying kite and your sticks and stones
Will you save me a place at the head of your table?
In your leather and lace and your burgundy sable
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now

Doing all Heaven will allow
You’ll make it through somehow
There’s sunlight behind the clouds
Yeah little Irish girl
Little Irish girl

When the servants mutiny and the crowned king cries
Will you come under scrutiny in their unforgiving eyes?
When there’s no keeper of the flame and the lights have gone out
Will you shoulder all the blame beyond the shadow of a doubt?
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now
Hey little Irish girl
Nothing can stop you now

Hey Mike... Tom and God are looking down at you and they LOVED what Tom and God have created. It's in the bible: "God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good and He validated it completely."

I absolutely love the way some cynics think they are putting someone down by saying stuff like, "Mike Campbell? He sounds like he's ripping off Tom Petty." First off, everybody sounds like somebody. Second, how weird would it be if Mike didn't sound at least something like Tom when they played together for almost fifty friggin' years? I remember when Kobe Bryant came along as a teenager in the NBA. The put-down was, "He's just trying to copy MIchael Jordan by mimicking all MJ's moves." People, if you can play ball in such a way that it brings #23 to mind, go for it." If you can write and sing songs that sound similar to Tom Petty, please, more, more, more.

I've fallen for the Dirty Knobs just as I did the Heartbreakers. My wife is mostly Irish, and I couldn't hold back when I heard this. Gratitude to Mike for all those years creating classics with the irreplaceable Mr. Petty, and now with his new band, my god the talent, they are creating more. Salute.

A song that sounds timeless from the first time you hear it. Love it!

In addition to being a formidable guitarist and songwriter, you are also an excellent singer and very much reminiscent of the great Tom Petty. Mike, don't you think about launching a book telling your entire musical trajectory? Surely your thousands of fans would like it. And congratulations on your taste for vintage equipment, Fender Deluxe and Princeton amplis. The sound of the 6v6 valves is too much. Together with their Broadcaster, they will be immortalized in the history of music.

Mike is really a talent unto himself. I see two different people on his Tom Petty days of performance. Tom Petty's vocals and Mike Cambell's extensive guitar riffs and breaks. Just a very talented guitar player and composer.
