Sony ZV E1 Unboxing: Dream Camera or Nightmare? My First Impressions

Do you add stabilization in post for dynamic steady shot footage? My footage is looking more shaky than what I see in reviews. It’s pretty smooth, but I see footstep bounce. Tried ninja walk. People show running shots that look flawless. I’m wondering if my ZVE1 is defective. I’m sure it’s just me.

I got this camera and curious to know if you had any issues with banding and flickering under artificial light conditions. My unit got hot just as I was going through the menus and configuring it, looks like they put too big of an engine on an undersize body. I've just returned this to the vendor and hoping that Sony will create a version II with mechanical shutter and does not get hot with minimal use.

Does 120p 1080p have dynamic image stabilization

Since the dynamic active stabilization crops in so much, can you test if the crop is enough to use APS-C lens without putting the camera into APS-C mode (which is 1080p only) and still have all vignetting removed?

I've seen the same test with stabilized lenses such as the Sony 10-18 F4 OSS where the reviewer shakes the camera so the floating lens element causes black corners to appear but maybe you can test the same with a non-stabilized APS-C lens like the Sigma 16mm F1.4 if you have it. That way you could also show if this and other features work with 3rd party lenses. THanks!

That dynamic stabilisation is great. I think the Sony 11mm f1.8 lens would be perfect for vlogs or wide angle videos. Its amazing how AI is helping make things easier. Price wise, its a lot of money I feel. But seeing so many tourists and visitors with far expensive cameras around their neck, I guess Sony know what they are doing. Nice review!

Does it look much better than the ZV E10 (edit Coffee montage looked very nice)? Shame about the mic, best on camera mic is on Nikon Z30- that is very good, and sounds better.

Sony 10-18mm f4 has full feame 13mm, and it could work well with dynamic stablization

Great review! I assume that this purchase was strictly a business/YouTube decision. Seeing that you already own the FX3, no real need for the little baby brother. As a A7iv owner I honestly dont get the hype, but thanks for taking one for the team so we dont have to 😊. I do however think this little beast will sit very well with the tiktok and short form creators. Especially with the follow focus features. Im curious though. Does the follow focus or that reframing feature work in vertical mode? I haven't seen anyone cover that yet.
