Soybean Breeding & Genetics Research at the U of A

Показать описание
You may not be aware that soybean research is underway all over the state of Arkansas as a direct result funding from your soybean check-off dollars and Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board. So this week we are shining the light of our podcast series on the Soybean Breeding & Genetics Research Program underway at the University of Arkansas' Fayetteville campus.
Headed up by Dr. Pengyin Chen, the research provides data that can then be used in the development of future soybean seed types or cultivars.
Here we join doctoral candidate Liliana Florez-Palacios as she walks us through her process and procedures for conducting her soybean sugar research.
Florez-Palacios reseach studies soybeans with high sucrose and low stachyose content. Which makes for a better tasting bean that is easier on our digestive systems.
