the crease across the shoulders was called a gunners crease, usually seen by RA units, also the blue slide denotes a detachment to the RA

Used to have one just like this, dated 1944 but a private, got it for 60 quid!

I noticed a couple more changes which are the cuffs having pleats which normally means the cuff was shortened and that the front waistband pleats have disappeared to produce a cleaner look at the front.

Nice to see Tailoring from that long ago. Mid 1980's in my Unit, Tailoring was long gone, wear what you where issued and the TC/OC could see the wear on this and would back you on that at the clothing store if items needed changing either due to getteing a bit bulky/fatter or taller/Shorter or obviuosly being worn out. This is a Store, not an Issue...Otherwise it would be called Issues....lol.

Can you help please
I have a BD jacket that is a light shade of brown wool, the neck is made in the 1940 pattern closed neck but with no metal hooks, there have only been 3 buttons with concealed button holes the buttons go up half way to the bottom of the breast pockets the rest of the jacket up to the neck had no buttons or button holes as if to be worn open similar to the 1949 pattern design but from the wear it looks like it was not ironed open The breast pockets have concealed button holes with a stitched double seam down the centre
Outwardly when fastened up it looks like a late ww2 pattern jacket There are internal breast pockets the same as the 1940 pattern The label is also in the same inside position but washed out so unreadable
The outside waist belt is also the same as a 1940 pattern
Could this be a late war but pre 1949 type?
Many thanks and keep producing your excellent videos
