This is the kinda shit my buddy must have been talking about when he said his old gyms ashi waza was basically just low kicks. Not to tach anything against the technicality of course. I just find it funny how much power goes into this. It reminds you that this is an athletic pursuit as much as anything. It might be a great equalizer, but you can do wild shit if you push yourself and get strong anyway.

I have randori with Olympic level Judoka, they have a sixth sense on your balance. They are able to catch you right when you shift your balance and sweep. Great Ashi Waza.
