Great lesson, Chris. Very helpful way to think about intervals. I've learned so much from you since I found you. I appreciate you, sir

I've been playing for 44 years, some lessons at first, this linear approach is something I started doing after really getting into Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson for the last 10 years.

I really really appreciate this video. The final exercise is exactly where I’m at in my personal practice but I tend to get bogged down feeling that the fretboard is a giant dark room and my tiny flashlight will never illuminate enough. The fretboard is finite, skills can be improved, and progress comes over time.

As always, you do a great job breaking it down and lighting the way. Appreciate you, Chris 👊👍

Well written exercise. Tracking and moving across the whole of the fret board, not bogged down by scale positions!

CHRIS, just to make it clear about triplets are 3 8th notes = 1 quarter note time. Triplets are not 3 separate 8th notes. This escaping is what Randy Rhoades was doing called "pivot axis". Shifting positions. I think it's very elementary to move from box1 minor pentatonic to box2 minor pentatonic. It's better to practice box1 minor pentatonic go to box2 major pentatonic. This is Angus young does often

How do riffs correlate to cords like if I was making a riff how can I riff from like a c chord to a g chord etc I know that chord tones exist and all but I don’t know how to use that information

2 things: Get out of my head this lesson is exactly what’s been on my mind. And why don’t you have a class on Truefire? I looked and did not see one.

I've had a guitar for about a year I get motivation to try and learn, then I go online trying to find a way to learn and just cant then i just give up but this time i wana learn for reals but just dont know how i kinda get confused on all this music theory stuff cause it seems like something u cant run past because almost every video i click they talk about music theory, i want to know how should i start learning online, cause irl courses are too much money and what should i start to learn, my dads a drummer he doesnt know much but he tells me to just get chords down idk if i should just practice only chords, im brain dead right now cause its 1 am but i hope this makes sense
