Sikkim has done this. They did soil rejuvenation and restored its strength while also maintaining it with good practices and they get higher yield without soil degradation. They do only organic farming without any use of artificial fertilizers and thier fruits and veggies look extraordinarily beautiful with higher nutritional values. There is a documentary on this may be by DW or BBC.
